MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 9.0 Review
MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 9.0 is an upgrade version of Free edition 8.1. It’s a piece of powerful software and can help users realize many disk management operations for free, such as converting FAT to NTFS, copying volume, converting MBR disk to GPT disk, and so on. Users can make use of it without difficulty. Even though users have little experience in computer, they can still achieve disk management with simple operations. If users want to realize disk management freely without worrying data loss and complex operations, MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition 9.0 is a good choice.
Apart from these regular functions, the Windows partitioning freeware offers many other advanced features, including extend partition, align partition(s), convert file system between FAT and NTFS, convert disk format between MBR and GPT, migrate OS to HD or SSD, and so on.
- 1. Main Interface Display
From the screenshot, users can clearly see six sections, namely menu bar, tool bar, action panel, disk map, disk/ partition/ volume list, disk/partition/volume type, orderly form the main interface. All options are in the left action panel and most important ones are in tool bar. The setting is simple and clear for users to choose certain functions they need to complete desired tasks.
2. Extend Partition:
It enlarges a specified partition including system partition and boot partition by borrowing free space from other existing partitions or unallocated space. During this process, it brings no damage to data.
3. “Wipe Disk” Function
To delete or format all partitions in a disk is not enough if users want to delete all confidential data in it. At this time, users had better choose “Wipe Disk” function. This function can destroy all information in the chosen disk safely and permanently. It can prevent someone from recovering your private and unwanted data.
Note: Once “Wipe Disk” function is performed, the data can’t be recovered by any data recovery software and the disk can be used only after being formatted.
4. Convert Disk Format:
It converts MBR disk to GPT (a MBR disk supports 4 primary partitions at most and space larger than 2TB cannot be used) or convert GPT to MBR (booting from GPT disk requires UEFI motherboard) without data loss and in very simple operations. Nevertheless, this program does not allow users to convert system disk since the conversion may lead to boot failure.
The above content just introduces several functions of MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition. If users want to know more about the software, download it freely to try it out.
