Review: Stellar Phoenix Exchange BKF Recovery Software
Developer: Exchange BKF recovery
I had faced several cases of data outages in the past, so I knew the importance of using backups and never took any risks when it came to backing up my critical Exchange data. I took backups on a weekly and monthly basis and kept them at a safe location on the hard drive. I had maintained a backup (.BKF) file that contained complete backup of my Exchange 2003 Server. I created this backup with the help of the ‘NTBackup’ tool. The backup process didn’t show up any errors at the time of execution and completed successfully. Recently, when I tried to restore data from this Exchange BKF, it came up with a series of errors and eventually the restore operation failed. I didn’t realize what caused this failure as there were no signs of any hardware failure, software malfunction, or similar issues.
A few friends suggested me to go for a third-party tool that can easily repair the corrupt BKF file and help to restore all the Exchange backup data intact. I bought an Exchange BKF recovery tool and ran it on the offending BKF file. I found that the tool was only able to access system state files. I could see some of the backup items, but not all of them. Moreover, it could only recover a few in the displayed list of recoverable items. Someone recommended using an older version of ‘NTBackup’ for restoration. He had a similar problem and used an older version of the utility to successfully restore his damaged BKF. I was apprehensive of losing my valuable backup data, so refrained from doing this. I made every possible attempt to repair and restore the exact contents of my Exchange BKF file, but unfortunately could not succeed.
I rigorously searched on the web to find out efficient and robust third-party Exchange BKF recovery software. I came across dozens of posts discussing similar problems. I ended up reading about one indispensable utility, ‘Stellar Phoenix Exchange BKF Recovery’. There were a number of excellent reviews on this software. I finally decided to purchase the product and it indeed worked a treat for me. The software ran expediently to scan the corrupt BKF file and display all the recoverable data in the Exchange Server backup. Within a few clicks, I was able to extract everything, including mailboxes, storage groups, public folders, and other items. Additionally, the software supports Exchange Server 2007 and 2003.
How Stellar Phoenix Exchange BKF Recovery Software works:
- When you run the software, the main user interface provides two options for selecting damaged backup file:
You can select any option.
- After completion of scanning and repairing process, all the data (.edb, .stm, and .log files) of the Exchange backup file are listed in three pane structure.
- From the right pane you can select option “Save all files”. You can store these repaired file either default location or your desired location.
- After saving the files a success message will displayed on your screen; “Saving process completed successfully”.
After completing these steps, you can easily restore all data to MS Exchange Server. I have successfully repaired and restored 560 GB backup file within 3.40 hrs.
