Wayne Allen has been a Zen-based psychotherapist and Bodyworker since 1982, and have been online since 1999. Known around the web as the “simple zen guy,” he provides 1-on-1 counselling and bodywork in, Ontario Canada, and telephone counselling for people around the world.
Back in 2008, Wayne and his wife and best friend, Darbella MacNaughton, started working on a project. They were asked to come up with a way to help injured workers with their pain and suffering. The province of Ontario was looking for a better, more elegant way to help workers cope with injury, and find new direction and quality of life.
They designed an 8 week program, featuring stretching and yoga, Qi Gong, and Mindfulness meditation. And then they thought, “Well, what we’re doing would work for anyone! What if we expanded the scope of the project by adding in additional tools and resources? We could add Breathwork, Zen based life approaches to living more fully and deeply, Body-mind exercises, and insight work.”
All of this would combine to help participants find:
- flexibility of body, mind, and spirit.
- a deep, yet understandable meditation practice
- Qi Gong exercises to increase the flow of energy in your body
- Ways of breathing that help you to calm down, focus, and become aware of your emotions
- Life approaches that stress self-responsibility, elegant communication and disciplined self awareness
- ways to become more aware of what’s going on inside – what your heart, mind, and body are looking for.
The Zen Life-Flexibility Program is the result
Inside, you’ll find an 8-week course in awareness. Using video, Wayne and Darbella demonstrate techniques and processes for deepening and clarifying your relationship with yourself, while at the same time helping you to go deeper. You’ll develop a comfortable and engaged meditation practice, while gaining increased body flexibility.
This course is designed for everyone, and is very much an introductory course – you’ll be able to do most or all of the exercises, even if you have physical limitations!
Both Darbella and Wayne are well into middle age, and use all of these techniques to maintain their own health and well-being.
The Zen Life-Flexibility Program membership site is an 8 week program, complete with 56 videos – they’re given to you in eight weekly installments of seven videos.
