Review Of GoFreelance – Freelance Writing Business
I’ve been in the freelance writing business for several years, and I’ve done the rounds of the online job sites. Having been burnt several times by scam sites, I am particularly careful about the online job sites I patronize. I encountered GoFreelance about a year ago, when I got an email offering their service. I did my usual checking up, more so because GoFreelance is not a free site. There were some detractors when I did a review search, but since most of them couldn’t write grammatical English, I viewed their comments with a jaundiced eye.
I took my time before committing to their 7 day trial because despite my skepticism regarding the negative reviews, I was not sure whether GoFreelance would be a good resource for freelance work. But once I signed up, I saw that while the site’s design is simple, I was able to hone in immediately on what I needed: job postings. I sent off several applications and bids for writing work, and two employers got back to me after two days, asking for sample work. I got assignments for both and we ended up nicely. The pay wasn’t all that great, but being a veteran freelancer, I knew the going rates, and was satisfied. Some of the work was easy and some were a little more demanding, though no different from other freelance work I’ve done.
I’m glad I kept my own counsel and signed up for GoFreelance. When you’re in the freelance business, it pays to have other sources of projects when the work dries up with one client. Freelance work is seasonal; you just need to know how to go with the flow. The work isn’t easy, either, but since the work is home-based, I’m happy. GoFreelance delivered what it promised, a good day’s pay for a good day’s work. GoFreelance helped ensure that I had a regular flow of work when I need it, well worth the monthly fee.
