The best deal on a new phone line
It seems that all of the United Kingdom’s leading home phone service providers are falling into line by charging a connection fee for a new phone line. Prices vary with Virgin Media being the lowest at just 35 pounds for a new connection installation. Talk Talk and Primus each charge around 69 pounds and BT weighs in pretty heavily with a 124 pound phone line installation charge. In an effort to get customers to come back to BT, British Telecom has put two measures into place. The first is a clever bundling of home phone, broadband and television in what is called the Talk, Surf and Watch plan. There are actually three levels of this plan, each suited to your household’s need for services. Overall Talk, Surf and Watch is designed to allow customers an extremely easily understandable one size fits all means of home communications. The second feature that BT has implemented is that if one opts for a combination home phone, broadband and television package the BT 124 pound phone line installation and connection fee will be waived. Bear in mind that new phone line connections can take as long as 16 working days to be installed.
