Which processes and methodologies can we find at home and are those processes similar to processes in business like manufacturing, finance, sales, backery, car repair, bank, a hospital,…………?
How to define what is good and what is bad?
How to explain GOOD and BAD so that everybody can understand?
What has a company and a household in common?
Can we use things we know from our home to improve our working environment and efficiency in a company?
Can we use things we learn in a company to improve our homes?
I was working this out because I thought there might be a need for something especially dedicated to the difference between a problem and a symptom, how to describe both of it and finally how to eliminate the reason for the problem.
Finally, I just wrote down what I experienced during my job.
The purpose is, that by self study and self learning, people can get themselves involved in process thinking, process knowledge and how to make it better.
The most changes are applied to processes because there was a problem happening or the need to make “it” better.
So what means better?
Who or What indicates that something is better now?
How to measure that something is better now?
and who cares?
Lets see and lets start where we need to start.
Lets figure out at first, what is a symptom and what is a problem.
The most examples are from the high volume manufacturing area.
Due to the fact that processes are available in any business and operation, just named different, you can use the project and modify it according your needs so that it fits e.g.: manufacturing processes, failure data collection and analysis processes, customer satisfaction process, audit setup processes, car repairing processes or else.
– Explain and analyse your experiences and data collection by charts, graphs, facts and figures.
It just depends on you, where and what for you want to use the project.

Implementing a “new” kind of methodology into an “old” environment or start doing changes in a given environment or structure can cause misunderstanding, fear, aversion, defensive postures.
Why people have aversions to support. Sometimes people have the fear to loose there jobs because we think that increasing the efficiency of “something” will be
– in a direct conflict to our own performance,
– used to measure our performance,
– used to create competition between colleagues
– we have the doubts, whether we can or we can not handle those new tasks, requested by our superiors.
Often, people do not believe that changes are made to make the job easier, more safety, more efficient by avoiding user mistakes or accidents.
If we can not figure out why those “new things” have to be done and how it has to be done, we hardly will agree to a change, also because we know “never change a winning team” But, are we a winning team?
A production environment or a factory and our home, actually those environments have much more in common than we think.
Let us do a simple comparison and find out if it is possible to understand structures like 5S, TPM, Supply Chain in a very basic way by comparing processes at home with processes we meet in our working environment.

To help to find new ideas, to help to improve teamwork, processes and also to give input for economical product design, production efficiency, for protecting our resources and our environment, so that all of us together can help to preserve the world and all its treasures for the next generations – this is the idea of this work.
